• Do your research about the company and the job before the big day, and refresh your memory about all your skills and experiences.
• Prepare for the interview by thinking about how you will answer stock questions such as why are you applying for the job and why should they hire you.
• Make sure you arrive for the interview in plenty of time.
• Always dress smartly to create a good first impression.
• All you need to think about is focusing on the interview and the task in hand so don't create extra pressure for yourself worrying about your appearance. Avoid wearing any uncomfortable clothes or tight shoes or styling your hair or make up in a new way.
• Try and make eye contact with the interviewer/s and remember to smile.
• Give the interviewer plenty of information but don't talk for too long on each question.
• Pause so that they have an opportunity to ask you about something that is of interest.
• You can ask questions too. Ask if the interviewer would like you to tell them about a particular point that you think is relevant for the job.
• Try and keep your answers relevant to the job in question.
• The interviewer will expect you to be nervous, it is only natural. Take a deep breath before you go in and try your best to relax.
