JOB TITLE: Waking Night Project Worker
RESPONSIBLE TO: Registered Manager/Deputy
Manager/Senior Project Worker
JOB SUMMARY
To work as part of a team, providing the people who live within the home, a service that meets their individual needs. To take responsibility for staying awake throughout the night to ensure the safety and well being of each person during the night, responding appropriately to support needs, illness and/or emergencies, etc and seek support/ guidance from sleeping in and on call person or other professionals as required.
To undertake household tasks throughout the night as detailed. To ensure security is paramount, including the building, vehicles, residents, and furniture and equipment. To work in a manner that promotes respect, privacy and dignity, individuality, choice and peoples rights. To support people in a way of there own choice and detailed in their personal file and in accordance with the Association's person centred approach.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
People in the home: (1) To offer appropriate support to people with all aspects of personal care, according to each persons individual needs and abilities. (2) To enable people to receive appropriate health care and advice when necessary. (3) To support people with all areas of living independently (e.g. laundry, tidying/ cleaning, preparing meals/ drinks, etc.) (4) Wherever possible ensure that needs are identified and met, bringing to the attention of the line manager any un-met needs. (5) To administer medication as needed, following policy guidelines. (6) To support people to implement their Support Plans. (7) To be able to communicate effectively, using different methods of communication according to people's needs. (8) To respect confidentiality and follow policy guidelines. (9) To follow all individual risk assessments. | ||
