Outline of Opportunity

Our client, a major central London based RSL, is looking for an experienced manager to lead a team of gas engineers and gas administrators.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Building Maintenance, you will take responsibility for the procurement, contract supervision and administration and financial control of the gas service and repairs contract. You will represent the company on all gas related matters and effectively manage resources to deliver the gas management program.

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage, oversee and direct day to day servicing repairs and maintenance contracts and provide specific technical advice, consultancy and contract administration

• Delivery of service within budget parameters and delivered in a way that is VFM and Egan compliant

• Meet or exceed repairs and service performance targets and resident satisfaction levels

• Develop the resources and capabilities of the team

• Ensure compliance with health and safety and gas services legislation

• Ensure effective management of supply chain, relevant to the service

•  Effectively manage and resolve complaints

Key Skills

The ideal candidate must have the following

• An ACS accreditation

• Previous experience of managing a building service, including gas in industry, private practice, local authority or a Housing Association

• Experience and knowledge of setting and managing maintenance budgets

• In depth knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements

It is also desirable though non essential for the successful applicant to hold a professional qualification e.g MCIBSE MI MechE or equivalent
