Liverpool City Council is a statutory partner in the Citysafe, Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership which is working to reduce crime and disorder and increase community safety in Liverpool. The work of partners has increased with the introduction of new statutory requirements including, for example, requirements to develop partnership responses around community cohesion.

The Community Cohesion Support Officer will support the Community Cohesion Principal Officer with the development of the Community Cohesion Plan for Liverpool.

An important aspect of the post holder's work will be to ensure effective implementation of the City Council's statutory duties - particularly Section 17 of the Crime & Disorder Act 1998.

This is a new post which is fixed term to 31st March 2011.
